Designer (05) - Garden designer Dr. Noel Kingsbury

Dr. Noel Kingsbury

Dr. Noel Kingsbury, an important light in the world of garden design, is known for his vibrant, naturalistic, fantastic gardens and prolific writing. Kingsbury, a long-time collaborator with Piet Oudolf, champions sustainable designs that mimic natural ecosystems. His 1996 book "The New Perennial Garden" sparked the movement, advocating for plant communities that evolve throughout the seasons. He has confined over 20 books, sharing his expertise and historical knowledge (like in "Hybrid: The History and Science of Plant Breeding").

Kingsbury isn't just a writer; he actively designs gardens and consults on landscapes. He regularly lectures and co-chairs events, fostering the love of nature through design. He's earned a doctorate for his research on long-term plant performance, ensuring his designs are ecologically sound and visually stunning.

His designs are very authentic. I like the perennial garden concept of his garden design. Perennial plans mean that the plants can live for more than two years.
